Born from a passion for cycling, community, and representation, Melanin Cycling Squad was created to bring together cyclists from diverse backgrounds and create a welcoming space where everyone can feel seen, supported, and empowered on two wheels.

What began as a small group of riders, based in Toronto, sharing a love for cycling has grown into a vibrant movement that celebrates culture, wellness, and connection. Recognizing that Black and racialized cyclists have often been underrepresented in the cycling community, Melanin Cycling Squad set out to change the narrative by creating opportunities for riders of all experience levels to ride together, build confidence, and form lasting friendships.

More than just a cycling club, Melanin Cycle Squad is a community-driven collective dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting charitable work, encouraging outdoor recreation, and fostering inclusivity within the sport. Through group rides, social events, mentorship, and community engagement, the squad has become a powerful community for connection, inspiration, and visibility.

Today, Melanin Cycling Squad continues to grow as a welcoming home for cyclists who share a passion for movement, community, and collective achievement. Whether riding through city streets, exploring scenic routes, or supporting local initiatives, the squad remains united by a simple belief: cycling is for everyone, and every rider deserves a place to belong.
